Wonderful time and wonderful folks in Anchorage. Rev. Martin Eldred was the perfect host. We even snuck away to the little mountain above town - "Baldy" and were able to gaze across the immense bay. It was a clear enough evening that we could see all the way to Mt. McInley/Denali.
While talking about the importance of cross-generational faith incubation (and the death of age-segregated/parent-less Sunday Schools) one of our guests, Rev. Ernie Savage, had the insight of the day:
"We have always done intergenerational worship and generational Sunday School. Maybe we are doing it backwards. Maybe we should consider doing generational worship and intergenerational Sunday School?"
I'm in Tulsa today at Fellowship Lutheran, then Decatur at Peace, then Thomasville at Paradise, then the Well Coffee House Church in Pineville, NC, through Saturday. I'll try to post the best quote of the day each day this week.
After 75 cities, we might have quite a collection!
