Back from D.C. where Debbie Streicher did her unusually usual marvelous hospitality for the Bible Song conference Saturday. Deb had some leadership folks over for wine and conversation Friday night. Jon Messer (Jon the Baptist) drove up from Richmond to spend/invest the 36 hours with me. He's the guy with two little boys who bless people at restaurants.
During the Saturday event, I was asked about the Penguins again - our Faith Inkubators' mascots:
Why penguins?
Penguine must incubate their eggs under extremely harsh conditions, and the father almost always has to be involved.
You can fry an egg in two minutes. You can boil an egg in two minutes. You can't, however, incubate an egg in two minutes.
It takes time. Attention. Commitment. And, in the penguin's case, a team of consistent caregivers.
