Can you guess the Bible scene from this He Qi painting for BSS? Can you guess the verse and song?
Pick up a Bible and you are holding the only lyric book you need for BSS. All the words for the songs are verbatim – the verse, the whole verse and nothing but the verse – from the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) of the Bible.
This is not your mother’s Sunday School music. It is fun, funky, varied, and very challenging. Our educational goal – make each song infectious enough so that whether the kids like the particular style or not, they the kids can’t get it out of their heads. We want them to sing and sign it today, and wake up humming it tomorrow.
We realize no two kids are going to like every style or song, so we mixed things up enough to keep it interesting. Forty musicians, writers, arrangers and vocalists have contributed works to make BSS a rich tapestry of sounds, flavors and musical genres . From the rich gospel styles of Robert Robinson to the urban rap of Agape, from the smooth jazz of Tony Axtel to the pure country flavor of Penguin Award winner Lauren Redpath, from the fun and funky Paul Frantzen to the driving old school rock of Rick Barron and Todd Ernster, from the bluesy edge of Michelle Reid to the mellow folk of Jon Anderson and Thomas Ian Nicholas, the Bible will sink its words and wonder into the memories of your kids and stick with them for life.
You can listen to some of the new tunes, interspersed with the old ones, on the FINKtunes button on top of our website at www.faithink.com.
